Wayne Richter

My fascination with improving the human body began at a very early age, more specifically since third grade. Early on I fell in love with weight lifting and the straightforwardness of seeing improvements in our strength and muscularity simply from the amount of work we are willing to do in the gym (and eating properly, too, of course…. But that wasn’t as fun as the weightlifting, no doubt).

Back then in elementary school, I was reading every bodybuilding magazine I could get my hands on, and then by high school, I progressed to strength training textbooks after I determined I wanted to pursue a career in the health and fitness field.

During my sophomore year in college, I started my career as a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness at the beginning of 2003 and deeply enjoyed the profession from the very start. Helping clients from every walk of life to find the joy in exercise and living the healthiest life possible had become my life’s pursuit. I know how greatly physical activity can benefit us not just physically, but perhaps more importantly, mentally, and it is my ultimate goal to introduce these same benefits to as many people as I can.

In the summer of 2005, I made the leap from being an employee to starting my own personal training company, Happiness Through Health, where I embarked on training out of the Las Vegas Athletic Club as an independent contractor. After 21 years at this gym, it is very easy to state that it was one of the best decisions of my life. Throughout my 23-year career, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in nutrition, as well as personal training certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, International Sports Sciences Association, International Fitness Professionals’ Association, and APEX. I have also attained specialization credits in exercise and nutrition for special populations, golf-specific training by strategies, and many more.

Most importantly, in that time, I have also been happily married for 19 years and have been the proud father to my amazing 15-year-old son. I am still an avid athlete who snowboards and skateboards regularly, and I rarely ever skip doing some variety of exercise on a daily basis as well. Over the last 25 years, I have paid meticulous attention to my diet and consumed the healthiest and most nutritious foods possible based on years of staying up to date with the most current nutrition research available.

I am constantly learning from every traditional resource available, as well as the experiences of my clients and from my own lifelong health journey as well. Staying consistent with exercise and nutrition isn’t always easy, no matter who the person or the circumstance, but with all of the knowledge I have accumulated over the years, I do everything I am humanly capable of to make this process as manageable as possible for every client I am fortunate enough to work with.
